The Everyday Disciple

Next Steps

On behalf of myself and my family, the staff at Rick Hodge Ministries, and our ministry partners, I want to tell you we are so excited that you want to know more about God’s marvelous plan of redemption and blessings for your life.

John 14:6 says that accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is the only way to God. When you do, God will forgive you for all your past, present, and future sins. There is no amount of good you can do as a person to earn His forgiveness. It is simply a gift from God, through Jesus, who loves you more than you can imagine. All you need to do to receive this gift is acknowledge, ask, and believe

How to Acknowledge, Ask, and Believe.

1. Recognize Sin: Acknowledge that you are a sinner and fall short of God’s perfect standard (Romans 3:23).

2. Repentance: Sincerely repent for your sins, which means turning away from them and seeking to live according to God’s will (Acts 3:19).

3. Believe in Jesus: Trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, believing that He died on the cross for your sins (all that you have done wrong) and was resurrected three days later, offering forgiveness for sin and salvation from hell for anyone who believes in him (John 3:16).

4. Receive God’s Grace: Understand that salvation is a gift of grace from God, not something earned through good works (Ephesians 2:8-9).

5. Follow Jesus: Commit to following Jesus Christ, learning from His teachings, and striving to live a life that honors God (Matthew 16:24).

6. Confess Faith: Confess your faith in Jesus publicly, acknowledging Him as Lord (Romans 10:9-10).

7. Be Baptized: While baptism is not required for salvation, baptism is a public declaration of faith and a symbolic representation of spiritual cleansing and rebirth after accepting Jesus as your savior (Acts 2:38).

8. Grow in Faith: After you accept Jesus, you will want to continually grow in your relationship with God through prayer, studying the Bible, participating in a Christian community, and living out your faith daily (2 Peter 3:18).

If you want to be forever forgiven of your sins, saved from the place God created for the devil and his fallen angels (called hell), and desire to have an actual relationship with the creator of the universe who wants to bless you as his child, would you pray this prayer from your heart?

“God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus took my sin upon himself, died on the cross for the forgiveness of my sin, and was raised from the dead three days later, forever guaranteeing my eternal salvation. I accept Jesus as my savior. I am sorry for my sin. Please forgive me. Come into my life and make me a new person. In Jesus name, I pray, amen.”

These are not magic words. But if you sincerely meant what you just prayed, we believe (and celebrate) that you have been spiritually born again into the family of God. You have been redeemed from all sin and made holy before your creator, thus deserving eternal life with Him.

You may or may not feel different, and that’s ok. Being a Christian is not about “feeling” it’s about believing. I promise there will be days when times will be difficult, and you won’t “feel saved,” but God never lies and backs away from his promises. He promised salvation through Jesus; if you just accepted him, that promise is eternally yours. So you don’t need to worry about how you feel. Instead, trust His promise and allow Him to work in your life.

We recommend you get involved with a Bible-teaching church in your community. Doing so is essential as a new believer to learn more about God, his teachings, and his blessings for your life. If you are unsure about churches in your area, please get in touch with us, and we will help you find a wonderful church in your local community.

Lastly, we want to celebrate having a new brother or sister in Christ and send you a few gifts to encourage you in your new walk with the Lord. Please use the form below to contact us and let us know where to send your gifts. We promise we will not ask you for anything.

We look forward to hearing from you, praying with you, and encouraging you as an everyday disciple of Jesus.
