This is a continuation of  arguably one of the most well known passages in the New Testament. Jesus is speaking to Nicodemus, a Pharisee and ruler of the Jews, about the concept of being born again and the purpose of His coming into the world. John 3:16-17 (NIV): “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”

The significance of John 3:17 underscores the idea that God’s motivation for sending Jesus was rooted in love and a desire for salvation for humanity. It clarifies that Jesus was not sent into the world to condemn it but to save it. This highlights the redemptive mission of Jesus, emphasizing forgiveness, grace, mercy, and the offer of salvation to all who believe in Him.

Remember, as a Christian, there is no condemnation for your past, present, or future sins. So ask God to forgive you and shake off the guilt you may be holding in your life. But please do not think this gives you permission to sin. Strive to be holy because God is holy.
